We are so proud!
This past weekend we took a short trip over to the German/Luxembourg border so that Jon could compete in his very first Triathlon!
Woohoo! Here's what he did:
It was actually a Sprint Triathlon so it was a little bit shorter than the typical one.
Perfect for his first.
It was a 500M swim, 20Km bike, and a 5Km run. In that order.
The best part of these events is the transition areas...they are perfect for fans to get great pictures of their athletes!
So, we checked in at about 8:30 and the race was to start promptly at 9:30.
The Lord was really looking out for Jon bc when he went to get his equipment inspected (they check helmets, googles, bike etc.) they found a small crack in his helmet!!!! DRAT!!! I saw them escort Jon over to the side and I knew that something was wrong. He came over to me and with a sad voice he said that they found a crack in his helmet...that they were trying to find someone to help him...but of course, the language barrier was pretty rough. Luckily, there was a nice gentleman that let him use a helmet! Praise the Lord! I kept thinking..man if we have to go home just because of this....that would be awful! So, back to the transition area he went to go set up his gear.
Another great part about this triathlon was that his two friends, Wade and Renee were competing with him.
So...without further explanation....Here are some pictures from the day:)
Here's Jon...all ready to go..helping his friend check in. See how they write their race numbers on their arms and their legs:)
Noah wasn't quite sure about all this...but he was pretty happy that Daddy was happy.
Here's Jon and Wade walking over to the starting line in the lake.
Close up..."Good Luck guys!!!"
Look closely, Jon is in the yellow and gray tri suite! Getting ready to start....
And...there they go!!!!!!
Here's Jon's friend Wade, out of the water first...
There goes Jon..just out of the water...on his way over to his bike (again, look close for that yellow and gray suite)
And..here comes Daaaady! Lap 2....
And again...lap 3...
Fast forward...done with the bike transitioning into the run...last part Dad! It's your strongest event...let's go let's go!!!!
And there he goes!!!!!!!
ANNNNNND......Heeeeeere he comes!!!!
Almost..almost...WOOOHOOOOOOOOO! WAY TO GO!!!

YAY!!!!! Finished!!!
And Wade...not long after (and sadly after he had a flat tire and some other issues...but he was happy nontheless!)
Here's Renee...all done! I kept missing her...never did get a good action shot...I was proud of her too, representing the ladies:)
Noah was way too excited to see Daddy again. He was sooooo hot...along with his Mommy. We were sweating buckets watching...but it was sooooo worth it to see our Hero compete and finish strong!
And here they are...post Tri! Well done everyone! Well done!
During this trip, we also took a short day to explore the city of Trier. Here's proof that I was on the trip:)
Hope you guys enjoy this post!!!
